As the only creative studio such as this in Ventura County, we attribute our reputation to the lasting relationships we’ve developed and successful projects we have collaborated on with our team of artists of all dis/abilities. We believe that every artist should have the opportunity to share their talents - and we have created a safe space to make that happen.

Artist Residency Program for artists of all abilities

Open Door Studio is a mentorship program for artists with all abilities. Local mentors serving the autism (and other intellectual and developmental) and arts communities teamed together to create Open Door Studio & Gallery in Oxnard, CA. Our team of resident artists of all abilities operate the gallery featuring local artists’ works - including theirs, of course! We actively promote inclusion, diversity, and the arts in Ventura County.

Many people with autism and other Intellectual and developmental disabilities communicate & connect through art. Whether your goals are to turn your hobby into a business, experience new things, explore new art mediums, or grow your resume and work experience, there is a place for you at Open Door. If you or someone you know is an artist or entrepreneur looking to join a team of peers and mentors, we are here to empower, create opportunities, develop talent, and provide real work experience as an artist - all while building friendships and having fun. Open weekdays from 10am-4pm, both online & in-person. 

Gallery Shows & Boutique featuring local artists 

We want all of our customers to experience the impressive level of professionalism when working with Open Door Studio. Show and sell your work in our weekly and monthly instillations made up of of local, inclusive, and diverse artists.
